Although only formed in 1943, 617 Squadrons is without doubt one of the RAF's most famous squadrons. Having hit the headlines with their audacious Dambuster raid in May 1943, the crews of 617 went on to carry out further high profile precision raids for the rest of the war. Being a special squadron, security was tight and photography was forbidden in most circumstances. Despite this, some photos were taken and this book brings together over 200 of these rare images to provide a visual tribute to the legendary Dambuster.
