Following on from the author's Fallen Eagles and his two No landing Place volumes, this book completes the survey of all the high-ground aircraft crashes in Wales and covers the area from Black Mountains in the east, through the highest peaks in the Brecon Beacons, to Mynydd Preseli in the west. The author tells the story of the onlyLuftwaffe aircraft to come down in this area, a Heinkel He111, which struck balloon cables at Newport, and also the Dornier Do217 that was shot down by RAF fighters off Port Eynon during the last major raid on Swansea in February 1943, plus many other incidents in and around this area. The book is illustrated by many fascinating photographs, while detailed appendices include a full list of high-ground military losses, memorial and a useful bibliography.
