This book is the latest in a new series called 'Spotlight On' which presents detailed illustrations of the Russian MiG-29 jet fighter in service with the Polish Air Force. The book contains 44 colour plates and highly detailed profiles with comprehensive captions showing the Mikoyan MiG-29 in Polish Air Force colours. Also shown are the markings of other users such as the East German and Czechoslovakian air forces. The MiG-29 was a twin-engine jet fighter aircraft designed in the Soviet Union during the 1970s. It was developed to counter new American fighters such as the F-15 Eagle and the F-16 Fighting Falcon. The first 12 MiG-29 (nine MiG-29As, three MiG-29UBs) were delivered to Poland in 1989-1990. Following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the militaries of a number of former Soviet republics continued to operate the MiG-29. Includes one huge fold-out profile, 76 cm (30 inches) long.
